Who is TRO?

Tards Rockin’ Out was born on a sweltering summer day in San Antonio, Texas in 2003, the brain/love child of three highschool friends; Joseph Michael “Mikey” Van Bibber, his brother “Cory”, and Benjamin “Ben” Field. The three friends found themselves surrounded by a dirth of music equipment scattered around an empty room once used as a dance studio at the Van Bibber household. On any other day Mikey, Cory, and Ben, music lovers though they were, would have dismissed any thought of forming a musical super group as a ridiculous childhood dream- but not that day. Something was in the air that summer…something magical…and it wasn’t the anticipation for the next istallment of the highly acclaimed Lord of the Rings Trilogy- no, thise was musical magic. The band was formed under a simple idea- make completely improvised music. Their songs were composed of two simple elements; a theme, and a rift. They had one tape recorder and a few amps, all they needed to cut an album- and they did. Their first EP: Short Bus EP came out in the summer of 2002, much to the awkwardly coerced praise of their close friends around campus. Four EP’s were cut after the initial release featuring the talents of several guest musicians, including the band’s newest permanent member, Jared Deer. (“The Rest of the Story” coming soon, once Ben gets off his lazy ass)
